The Maven Bio connector gives Claude direct access to a structured life sciences data layer. Drugs, companies, clinical trials, indications, mechanisms, and targets, linked to each other and to the source documents behind them.
Ask in plain language. Claude resolves the entity, pulls typed records, then reads the primary source. A landscape query returns the programs in an indication, with discontinued and suspended ones available when you want them. A claim about an approval traces back to the FDA letter itself.
Connecting
Add the connector to a Claude Team or Enterprise workspace, Claude Desktop, or any MCP-compatible client using the server URL:

When you connect, you will be asked to sign in with your Maven Bio account. Authentication uses OAuth, so no API keys or passwords are shared with your client. You need an active Maven Bio account; if you do not have one, get in touch through our contact page.
What you can do
The connector exposes sixteen read-only tools. Nothing you do through it modifies your Maven Bio data.
- Resolve and profile entities. Turn messy names, aliases, and internal codes into canonical entities, then pull a structured profile for any drug, company, trial, indication, mechanism, or target.
- Discover by criteria.Search across entity types with natural-language queries like "Phase 3 KRAS G12C inhibitors" or "public oncology companies with late-stage pipelines."
- Competitive landscapes.Map an entire indication by phase, company, or mechanism. In our own testing, landscape queries went from 8–25 programs per indication to 25–65.
- Source evidence. Search and read FDA filings, SEC filings, clinical papers, press releases, and conference abstracts as full text, structured sections, or extracted citations.
- Financials, financing, and deals. Pull public-company financials, financing rounds with investor syndicates, and BD deal activity filterable by indication.
- Biological evidence. Retrieve genetic and biological evidence for a target or disease: associations, tractability, and known drugs with sources.
- Proactive monitors. Get an event feed of FDA actions, trial readouts, and press releases scoped to the entities a monitor tracks, each signal carrying its source. Monitors are scoped to your account and organization.
- Saved artifacts. Browse and read the reports, tables, charts, and analyses saved in your Maven Bio workspace.

- Read-only. Every tool retrieves information. None modify your Maven Bio data.
- Sourced answers. Discovery and landscape tools return structured baselines. Pair them with document search and read to confirm high-value claims against primary sources.
- Scoped to you. Monitors, artifacts, and account data are limited to your own account and organization.
- Usage.Tool calls draw on your organization's Maven Bio credits and are subject to per-organization rate limits.
